桂冠指揮者 大植 英次
2003年音楽監督に就任。2012年より桂冠指揮者となり、大阪フィルハーモニー交響楽団との新たな関係がスタートした。
広島生まれ。桐朋学園で齋藤秀雄に指揮法を師事。1978年アメリカに渡り、小澤征爾の招きでタングルウッド・ミュージック・センターに学び、同年ニューイングランド音楽院指揮科に入学。タングルウッドでレナード・バーンスタインに出会い、以後世界各地の公演に同行、助手を務めた。
バッファロー・フィル準指揮者を経て、1990年から1995年までエリー・フィルの音楽監督、1995年から2002年まで名門ミネソタ管の第9代音楽監督を務めた。1998年からはハノーファー北ドイツ放送フィルハーモニーの首席指揮者を務め、2000年よりハノーファー音楽大学の終身正教授も務めている。2006年９月バルセロナ交響楽団の音楽監督に就任。2009年9月よりハノーファー北ドイツ放送フィルハーモニーの名誉指揮者となる。
2005年、新演出の「トリスタンとイゾルデ」で日本人指揮者として初めてバイロイト音楽祭で指揮し、世界中の注目を集めた。2006年から毎年大阪城西の丸庭園で実施している「星空コンサート」では大成功を収め、毎年９月には１週間にわたり大阪御堂筋周辺の店舗やショールームなど十数か所で開催する「大阪クラシック」をプロデュース、いずれも大阪の風物詩となり、多くの聴衆を魅了している。2006年度大阪芸術賞特別賞、斎藤秀雄メモリアル基金賞受賞。2007年11月、第42回大阪市市民表彰を受彰。2009年6月、ニーダーザクセン州功労勲章・一等功労十字章を受章。
Conductor Laureate: OUE Eiji
Since 2003 OUE has taken up the position as a music director in Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra as a successor of ASAHINA Takashi.
Born in Hiroshima, OUE studied conducting under SAITO Hideo at Toho Gakuen School of Music. He moved to the United States in 1978 as OZAWA Seiji invited him to study at Tanglewood Institute. In the same year, he entered into New England Conservatory majoring in conducting. He met Leonard BERNSTEIN in Tanglewood, and since then followed him all over the world for his concert as an assistant.
After conducting at Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, OUE was appointed as a music director in Erie Philharmonic Orchestra from 1990 to 1995. From 1995 to 2002, he became the 9th music director at Minnesota Orchestra. He is also the chief conductor in NDR Radio Philharmonic Orchestra of Hanover since 1998, and since 2000 he has been a professor at University of Hanover. In September 2006 he became the chief conductor and also an artistic advisor at Barcelona Symphony Orchestra. From September 2009 he is appointed as an honorary conductor at NDR Radio Philharmonic Orchestra of Hanover.
In 2005, OUE has become the first Japanese to conduct at Bayreuth Festival, for the new production ‘Tristan und Isolde’. The outdoor concert at Osaka Castle, ‘Hoshizora Concert’ has been successful since 2006, as well as his own produced ‘Osaka Classic’, which consists of many concerts at various venues including shops and show rooms along the mido-suji line in Osaka, over 7 days. Both events have been the annual events of Osaka city, attracting many people. OUE received the 2006 Osaka Performing Arts Special Award, and also the award for SAITO Hideo Memorial Fund. In November 2007, he received the 42nd Osaka Citizen Award. In June 2009, he received "das Verdienstkreuz 1. Klasse des Niedersachsischen Verdienstordens".
大阪フィルハーモニー交響楽団
1947年朝比奈隆を中心に「関西交響楽団」という名称で生まれ、1950年社団法人化、1960年に改組、現在の名称になった。創立から2001年までの55年間朝比奈隆が指揮者を務め、大阪フィルは個性と魅力溢れるオーケストラとして親しまれてきた。2003年4月から2012年3月まで大植英次が音楽監督を務め、2012年4月に桂冠指揮者に就任。これまでに、遠山信二、外山雄三、若杉弘、秋山和慶、手塚幸紀、大友直人等、名指揮者達と専属契約を結んだほか、内外の一流音楽家と共演。「定期演奏会」はザ・シンフォニーホールで、年10回、毎回2公演開催している。また大阪以外の全国各地の文化振興にも貢献しており、数回にわたるヨーロッパ、カナダ、アメリカ、韓国、台湾での演奏旅行では各地で絶賛を博した。
Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra
Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra was founded by ASAHINA Takashi as ’Kansai Symphony Orchestra’ in 1947. In 1950 it has become an incorporated body and in 1960 its name has changed to the current one.
ASAHINA Takashi had conducted Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra for 55 years since its establishment until 2001, and it had been recognized as a unique and fascinating orchestra.
In April 2003, OUE Eiji was inaugurated as a music director. The orchestra has also contracted with various famous conductors such as TOYAMA Shinji, TOYAMA Yuzo, WAKASUGI Hiroshi, AKIYAMA Kazuyoshi, TEZUKA Yukinori, and OTOMO Naoto.
The subscription concert series is held at The Symphony Hall 10 times a year, twice each. The orchestra is also contributing to the culture promotions not only in Osaka but in various areas in Japan, and the concert tours to Europe, Canada, United States of America, Korea, and Taiwan have been held several times, gaining high reputation at each country.
