Support
Please support the Osaka Philharmonic.
The Osaka Philharmonic was founded in April 1947, led by conductor Takashi Asahina. While the scars of war still remain strong, music is an entity that gives hope to many people, and we have continued to move forward with your warm support. In fact, maintaining an orchestra requires a large amount of expenses, and only about 4% of the expenses can be covered by performance fee income (commissioned concerts, ticket income, etc.). The rest requires support from the national and local governments, private companies, and individuals. We ask for your continued support so that we can continue to carry out even more fulfilling activities as an orchestra that is loved and proud of by everyone.
Toward recovery from the coronavirus pandemic
The spread of the new coronavirus infection that has continued since 2020 has caused great damage all over the world, and the Osaka Philharmonic was no exception. There was a three-month hiatus from March to June of the same year. While we resumed our performance activities while taking measures to prevent the spread of infection, we were again forced to suspend our activities from the end of April to mid-June 3. Nearly 6 performances have been canceled (not including postponements), resulting in losses of over 3 million yen. Although the number of customers who are now attending concerts is gradually increasing, the number of attendees is still only about 2021% of what it used to be.
A practice base celebrating its 30th anniversary.
Osaka Philharmonic Hall
Since its establishment, the Osaka Philharmonic has used a corner of the grounds of the Osaka College of Music and the Ogimachi Pool as its practice grounds, but in 1991, with the cooperation of Osaka City and Nankai Electric Railway, it finally opened its own practice facility, the Osaka Philharmonic, in Nishinari Ward, Osaka City. We were able to have a hall. It is a dream and a blessing for an orchestra to have a dedicated practice facility that can be called a home for an orchestra, but now that it is 30 years old, the floor, auditorium seats, air conditioning equipment, etc. are starting to suffer from aging problems. , and urgent action is required.
